Matthew Perry’s drug overdose case reopened by the feds: Report

Federal investigators have reportedly been interviewing ‘key people in Hollywood’ to trace the drug’s source

The mystery surrounding Matthew Perry’s death continues.

When the Friends star tragically passed away in October 2023 at the young age of 54, his autopsy report confirmed his cause of death as the acute effects of anesthetic ketamine. Perry was believed to have accidentally overdosed on ketamine, which rendered him unconscious while he was in his hot tub, leading to him drowning.

However, TMZ recently reported that federal investigators are still looking for one key missing piece of information: how did Perry obtain the ketamine that killed him.

Although Perry’s death was publicly declared a closed case, the outlet reported that the local police and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have been interviewing some “key people in Hollywood” who are known drug users.

The outlet further clarified that the people being interviewed are not “necessarily the actual source of ketamine,” but authorities are hopeful for some key “information leading to the source.”

Earlier, sources close to Perry told investigators that at the time of his death, the late actor was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy to treat his depression and anxiety.
