Dwayne Johnson comes to rescue of his wax statue amid backlash

Dwayne Johnson recently stepped in to address the controversy surrounding his wax statue at the Musee Grevin museum.

The museum that specializes in wax figures of famous people seems to be in hot waters after messing up the multi-ethnic actor’s statue as fans find it to be too light skinned to represent him.

The Rock, 51, took to Instagram and shared a video of comedian James Andre Jefferson talking about or more likely dissing the wax figure.

As he began to share that he will ask the makers to update his wax statue he wrote, “I knew my boy @jamesjeffersonj had this Rock wax statue in his roasting crosshair.”

He quoted Jefferson: “Is this how y’all felt when you lost the Little Mermaid?” and acknowledged that he finds it funny, “legit belly laughed at this.”

“For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements,” Johnson added, “starting with my skin color.”

“And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself,” Black Adam star shared.

In response to the backlash the museum provided a statement to Deadline, stating, “Dwayne Johnson is right and we noticed it and will obviously remedy it as quickly as possible.”
